Dr. James Herdegen is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Section Director of Sleep Medicine and Medical Director of the Sleep Disorder and Research Center at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, underwent residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and completed his fellowship training in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Herdegen has board certifications in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine and is actively involved in clinical, teaching and research programs at the Rush Sleep Center including studies on sleep apnea and insomnia and metabolic aspects of sleep apnea. Dr. Herdegen directly supervises the outpatient sleep clinics at the Rush University Medical Center which provides care for more than 7000 patients/year with diagnostic testing from the sleep laboratory and ambulatory sleep apnea screening performed more than 2400 studies/year. Dr. Herdegen has trained a number of board-certified sleep physicians also oversees the ambulatory sleep study program at Rush University Medical Center.
